About Us

Omo Beeza Ministry

Omo Beeza Ministry is a Christ-centered initiative based in the South Omo region of Southern Ethiopia. We raise generations in a safe and loving environment where they can grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The name carries our hope: “Omo” refers to the local people, while “Beza” means “light” in the Tsemay language — our prayer that the gospel will bring light to those living in darkness.

About South Omo

  • South Omo is a region of rich cultural diversity and natural resources, yet it faces significant socio-economic challenges.
  • The region faces limited native leadership, cultural challenges, educational deficiencies, and poverty.
About Our Ministry

Our Mission, Vision & History

Our Mission

Equip the youth of South Omo through holistic education and spiritual discipleship by:

  • Equip: Educating South Omo’s youth through scriptural foundations, academic excellence, and vocational skills.
  • Enlighten: Nurturing a biblical worldview and a mission-driven heart for unreached peoples.
  • Train: Developing the next generation of leaders to serve both the Church and the wider community.

Our Vision

To raise a generation in South Omo, discipled within their own context and holistically developed to serve as Christ-like, socially responsible agents of change in their communities.

  • Christ-centered discipleship rooted in each child's own context.
  • Holistic growth — spiritual, academic, and social.
  • A generation equipped to transform their communities through the Gospel.

Our History

The Beeza Children's Center was established on September 28, 2022, in the Tsemay region of Ethiopia. Our initial step was the relocation of sixteen children from various pastoralist communities to our center, in collaboration with missionary organizations.

The South Omo region, while rich in cultural heritage and natural resources, faces significant socio-economic challenges. Despite missionary engagement spanning over six decades, the region still experiences limitations in community leadership and spiritual maturity.

Luqa, 63 kilometers from Jinka in the Tsemay region, is a strategic location for our mission — a significant concentration of Tsemay natives alongside a diverse population including the Banna people.

Our Core Values

Gospel Centrality

We center our ministry on the true gospel of Christ — holistic development for children through discipleship and care for orphans.

Bible-Based Ministry

We affirm the supremacy of God’s Word, guiding our teachings and practices to reveal God’s desire for worship among all peoples.

Partnership

We collaborate with churches, ministries, and organizations that share our vision to reach all people with the gospel.

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” — Matthew 19:14
